A Word from our President

Hello ladies and gentlemen –

Here it is: the first digital newsletter/blog post in the history of the Episcopal Women’s History Project! It will include the little note I’ve been sending to you [mostly] monthly, information and articles about and from other board members including payment of dues, All Saints Appeal, and ongoing projects. It should arrive within the first 10 days of each month.  The newsletter will be delivered directly to your inbox, so you won’t have to worry about finding it online. If you prefer a hard copy, or for those members who don’t have email, we will mail a copy quarterly for a nominal fee. The first hard copy will go out in December.

As you will see, July was a busy month for EWHP. The minutes of the annual meeting are here, and brief biographies of our 5 new board members. Several board members are also sharing their convention experiences with us, and I know you’ll enjoy hearing their news. While I was unable to attend the convention, I managed to accomplish quite a lot from my desk. At this moment I’m probably most excited about this, our first communication to the membership at large in far too long.

Many new opportunities will present themselves in the coming year. First, we will be issuing a Call for Papers for the tri-history conference in San Antonio next June. We will evaluate requests for grants and determine what awards can be given this year (last year’s awards are here). We will begin sharing the results of our series of interviews with early EWHP members next month. As always, we invite your input. This newsletter is for all of us. If you have information you’d like to share, please send it to me or another board member.

Until next time, may God bless all of you.
