They have gone before us.
Their names echo from centuries past: Mary, Martha, Perpetua, Monnica,
Catherine, Margaret, Hilda, Elizabeth, Constance, Harriet. In our own
day the
saints among us give their lives in service and in thanks to God. They
are
preachers and teachers, parents and grandparents, bishops and
theologians,
sisters and spouses, godmothers and aunts, ministers of the gospel and
friends
along the way. They walk beside us – on each side of us. They are
saints.
The 2006 All Saints
Appeal of the Episcopal
Women’s History Project is an opportunity to give thanks for the women
who have
supported us along the way and who have made vital contributions to the
Christian story. Donations made in honor of women living and deceased
will be
used to support the various ministries of the Episcopal Women’s History
Project. The names of all women honored, along with a brief
biographical sketch,
will be published in the project’s newsletter, TIMELINES.
Honor
the faithful women in your life today!
